Arizona Apprenticeship Programs and Jobs

• Apprenticeships earn an average starting salary of $50,000 a year while gaining an equivalent to a 2 year or a 4 year college degree.

• Workers who complete an apprenticeship program earn $300,000 over a lifetime than their peers who did not complete an apprenticeship program.

• There are over 400,000 registered apprenticeships nationwide in more than 1,000 occupations.

• A paycheck—From day one, an apprentice will earn a paycheck guaranteed to increase over time as he or she learns new skills.

• On the job training—An apprentice will receive practical on-the-job training related to their specific occupation.

• An education—Apprentices will receive hands-on training and have the potential to earn college credit, an associate or bachelor’s degree. In many cases, classes are paid for by the employer.

• National industry certification—when you graduate from a career training program, you’ll be certified and can take your certification anywhere in the U.S.

• Find out which documents they require to apply.

• Ask to be provided with informational materials about their programs

• Review the company’s website and informational materials, and ask don’t be afraid to ask for clarification.

The Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) The Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) is the authorizing legislation for workforce development programs administered by the U.S. Department of Labor's Employment and Training Administration. WIOA is supportive of Registered Apprenticeship Programs. Local Workforce Development Boards can help finance on-the-job training, related training instruction, and supportive services, if the individuals (apprentices or prospective apprentices) are eligible for WIOA services as a qualified Adult, Dislocated Worker, or Youth as defined by WIOA criteria.

To find out more about WIOA, please reach out to our community partners. Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA): Funding is available to Disconnected Youth aged 16-24. A student is considered disconnected if they are not enrolled in a Post-Secondary institution or working. Most of our students would be considered disconnected the day after graduation. DACA, Permanent Residents and Citizens can qualify for $3,000 per year.
